Donald C. Creamer
Donald Clair Creamer, 77, formerly of Marietta, passed away at 5:15 am on Monday, October 6, 2008, at his home in Williamstown.
He was born on January 15, 1931, a son of John Franklin Creamer and Garnet Temptest “Mike” Heiney Creamer. Don had been employed at Union Carbide Metals for 33 years as a supervisor until his retirement. He was a member of the Williamstown Church of Christ, Moose Lodge, Fraternal Order of Eagles, American Legion Post 64, was a veteran of the U. S. Marine Corps during Korean Conflict, enjoyed watching football and baseball and old westerns and in his younger years loved hunting, fishing, and working outdoors. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
Don married Patricia Ann McCloud who preceded him in death. He is survived by 3 daughters: Mari Lynn (Randy) Petty of Whipple, Dorothy Jean (Gordon) Bauman of Marietta, Terri (Jeff) Martin of Williamstown; 7 grandchildren: Angi (Terry) Johnson, Randy (Mila) Bauman, Josh (Natasha) Petty, Donald Cody Creamer-Bauman, Tricia Martin, Ashlee Martin, Ryan Martin; 5 great grandchildren: Kelsey Johnson, Laken Johnson, TaiAnna Martin, Conner Petty, Adrianna Petty. Also surviving are 1 brother and 1 sister: Russell (Iris) Creamer of Litchfield, OH, and Ruth Carroll of Davisville, WV and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Donald Dale Creamer.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 1:30 pm at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Evangelist David Powers officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Park with full military rites. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7:00 pm on Tuesday until the hour of the service.
