Wendell W. Grimm

Wendell W. Grimm, 86, of Marietta, went to his Heavenly home February 20, 201 5, at his residence.

 Wendell was born July 27, 1928, at Trimble (Athens Co.), OH, to Ernest and Oma Reeves Grimm.  He attended elementary school at Trimble, OH, and graduated from Timken High School, Canton, OH. He also attended Ohio University in Athens. He worked at American Cyanamid, Willow Island, for 23 years taking early retirement and then working with Plumbers & Pipe Fitters Local 168. He was active in the Coast Guard Auxiliary; AARP, where he was involved with the Tax-Aide program; the Washington Co. RSVP and the Marietta Senior Club. He was an active member of the Tunnel United Methodist Church serving in a number of capacities.

 On January 10, 1949, he married Jean Ruston, deceased. Surviving from this marriage are daughter Gloria Gibney of Old Saybrook, CT, and daughter-in-law Elizabeth Grimm of Nashport, OH, (near Zanesville, OH), five grandchildren: Geoff Gibney (Elizabeth) of Tampa, FL, Lisa Gibney Fredette (John) of Hampton Falls, NH, Gregory Gibney of Guilford, CT, Seth Grimm (Miley) and Chase Grimm both of Clarksville, TN, and one great grandson, Carter Gibney.

 He is also survived by wife, Leah, whom he married on July 10, 1964, with one daughter, Cheryl Noah (Fred Boston) of Fleming, OH, and two granddaughters: Lori Noah Isue (David) of Colorado Springs, CO. and Juli Noah Blaney (Jason) of Vincent, OH, one great grandson, Jacob Isue, and two great granddaughters, Abigail and Samantha Blaney.

 He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Ernest Grimm, and son-in-law Jim Noah.

 Funeral will be Saturday (Feb 28) at 2 pm, at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Sinnett and Pastor Richard Thomas officiating.  Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation Friday (Feb. 27) 2-4 and 6-8 pm, also on Saturday one hour prior to the service.  Messages of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.Lankfordfh.com.
