Jack D. Francis

Jack D. Francis, 83, of Marietta passed away 5:15 pm Thursday May 31, 2018 at Heartland of Marietta. He was born July 8, 1935 at St. Marys, WV to James M. and E. Charlotta (Huggins) Francis.

He was employed by Patin Manufacturing, and was a member of Harbor Site Baptist Church and American Union Lodge #1 A & FM. Jack loved dancing and riding motorcycles with his wife. He enjoyed playing guitar, watching football and especially spending time with his great grandchildren.

On March 27, 1956 Jack married Judy A. Spindler who preceded him in death on July 26, 2017.

Surviving is one son and one daughter: Kevin D. (Susan C.) Francis and Deneen R. (Tim) Schaad both of Marietta; 3 grandchildren: Brittany G. (Ryan) Bishman of Marietta, Bridget L. (Chris) McCutcheon of Marietta, Braden D. (Ashley) Schaad of Fayetteville, NC; 6 great grandchildren: Wyatt Bishman, Drake, Brenna and Kaelyn McCutcheon, Madison and Caleb Schaad.

In addition to his parents and wife Jack was preceded in death by 4 brothers Kenneth, Bruce, and James Francis and Shelton Hays, as well as, 7 sisters Eloise Wilson, Ruby Francis, Faye Rae, Dorothy Cronin, Ruth Pryor, June Harris and Helen Pethel.

Funeral services will be held 12:30 pm Wednesday, June 6th at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Schaad officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park.
