Irene G. Payne
Irene G. Payne, 92, of Whipple passed away at 8:30 pm, Monday, June 18, 2018, at her home. She was born January 2, 1926, in Washington County, OH, to Elmer Ernest and Bertha Elizabeth Sprout Morgenstern.
Irene was a homemaker and a member of Marietta Bible Center. On August 3, 1946, she married Richard Payne who preceded her in death June 27, 2000.
Irene is survived by 2 daughters; Linda (Paul) Bennett of Stockport and Donna Jean Payne, 3 grandchildren: Jamie Sheets, John Howell and Russell Gabor and 3 great, great grandchildren. She is also survived by longtime caregivers, Gary, Danielle, Nancy and Derek Thompson and Landen Rake. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 3 sisters.
Graveside service will be held in Waxler Cemetery on Thursday (June 21) at 1:00 pm with Pastor Lou Verdi officiating. McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home is assisting the family and messages of sympathy may be sent at www.Lankfordfh.com.
