Clarence W. Emerick
Clarence W. Emerick, 85, of Marietta, passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2011, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
He was born on March 17, 1925, a son of the late George F. and Nellie Jackson Emerick. Clarence was a veteran serving with the Army Air Force for 2 ½ years during WWII, India-China Berma Pacific theater. He was retired from the U. S. Postal Service, and for 10 years worked for O’Neil Citizen’s Center. He was a member of Second Congregational Church, Washington County Chapter OGS, NARFE and was an Ohio State football fan and loved music.
On June 12, 1946, he married Lillian Root Emerick who survives with 2 sons, William B. (Barbara) Emerick of Circleville and Andrew Emerick of Marietta; 2 daughters, Lynn (Edward) Fulton and Barbara (Paul) Richards both of Marietta; grandchildren: Becky (Bill) Frederick, Donald (Carol) Emerick, Chris (Tisha) Emerick, Paul (Penny) Richards, Jennifer Richards and her special friend Casey all of Marietta, Darrin (Sherry) Fulton of Barlow, Theron (Kim) Fulton of Mineral Wells, William Emerick, Jr. and Carolyn ( Joe) Stockham of Circleville, Eileen Fulton and her special friend Kevin of Parkersburg, Aaron (Darlene) Fulton of Vincent, and daughter-in-law Vickie Masters of Marietta; numerous great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by 2 sons: Donald Lester and Ronald Alan Emerick; and 2 brothers: George F.and James Robert Emerick.
His request was that his body be cremated. McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
