Dale Richard “Dick” Fleming

LOWER SALEM – Dale Richard "Dick" Fleming, 84, of Lower Salem passed away at 7:50 a.m. on Tuesday (Oct. 18, 2011) at his home on the creek surrounded by his family. He was born on May 28, 1927, in Barlow, a son of Delbert and Addie Lee Fleming. Dick had been employed at Airolite, was a member of United Steel Workers of America, United Musicians Federation and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He is survived by two sons and one daughter: Allen (Marcella) Fleming of Lower Salem, Gary (Melanie) Fleming of Lower Salem and Kathy Lovett of Whipple; six grandchildren, Diana, Aaron, Megan, Shelley, Garrett, Brandon; and two great-granddaughters. He is also survived by two brothers: Herb and Dean Fleming; two sisters, Grace Adams and Ruth Ann Dickinson; stepson, Daniel Fickiesen; daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Fickiesen; numerous step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Fannie Fickiesen; brother, Carl Fleming; sister, Lois Thompson; stepson, Lyle Jake Fickiesen.

Funeral services will be held on Friday (Oct. 21) at 10 a.m. at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with burial in Salem Township Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday after 3 p.m. Messages of sympathy may be sent at: www.mslfuneralhome.com.
