Wilma L. Carpenter

Wilma L. Carpenter of Marietta passed away on Tuesday, August 14, 2018, surrounded by her family who showed their love for her as she did for them.

She was born on April 14, 1950 to Charles and Gertrude Matheny Benson who preceded her in death. She married Ralph Carpenter who survives with one daughter, Connie, 3 sons Brian, Tim and Tony Carpenter; 7 grandchildren: Brian (Shelby), Ryan (Chelsey), Junior Lee, Billy, Luke, Tony Jr., and Shianne; 3 great grandchildren: Easton, Parker and McKenzie Carpenter. Wilma was one of 14 children: Christine Decker, Nancy Murphy, Sandy (Jimmy) Cooke, Ann (Joe) Huck, Bonnie Delong, Janet Grahame, Dearrell (Gladys) Benson all survive. Deceased are 3 sisters: Patricia Ann Benson, Donna Benson and Marilyn Shankland and 3 brothers, Delmus Gene, Ernest Lee and Charles W. Benson.

Funeral services will be held on Monday (Aug. 20) at 11:00 am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with interment following in Lynch Cemetery. Family will greet friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8. Messages of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.Lankfordfh.com.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in her memory to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.
