Teruko June Wanzo

Teruko (June) Wanzo, 89, of Marietta, Ohio passed away at 5:25 pm on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on September 14, 1928 in Mikawashima, Tokyo, Japan to the late Nami Yagyu and Toranosuke Abe Yagyu.

Teruko was a pioneer member of Soka Gakkai International since 1957 and served as the Marietta District Leader for more than 40 years.

She is survived by her children and family members: Keiji Abe, Richard (Sandy) Wanzo, Helen Mahoney, Patty (Rick) Christie, Nancy Wanzo and Jan Vaughan; and grandchildren: Jamie Wanzo, Bobby (Lourdes) Wanzo, Shawna Mahoney, Maggie Mahoney, Trey Christie, Ryan (Abby) Christie, Keith Douglas, Esteban Rodriguez, Mario Rodriguez, Takahiro and Manami Abe, Gabrielle Graham; and great grandchildren: Jeremiah, Isiah, and Tiara Rodriguez, Chloe Gabriana, Vivian Wanzo, Maile, Richie, and Jude Rooney and Rubiana Roselyn Wanzo.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Wanzo (1/18/2015).
