Conrad McKinley Parsons

Conrad McKinley Parsons, 93, of Marietta passed away on Tuesday, February 12, 2019, at The Arbors. He was born Jan. 4, 1926, in Chesterhill, OH, to the late Henry and Ester Mills Parsons.

In early years, Conrad worked on the Devol farm in Devola, Central Office Supply in Marietta and Marietta Country Club Golf Course. He was well known for doing odd jobs for many people, mowing and gardening was his passion. He was Baptist by faith.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Hazel Parsons and 2 daughters, Connie Backus of Marietta and Deborah (John) Edwards of Tupper Plains; grandchildren: Robert “Ferrel” Foster of Marietta, Daniel Backus of Weston, WV, Nicole (Josh) Fogle of Coolville, OH, Kyle (Delyssa) Edwards of Gallipolis, Johnny (Katrina) Parsons of Little Hocking, Jonathan and Derek Parsons of Weirton WV; great grandchildren: Brant, Braddock, Brooklyn, Easton, Kyler, Trenton, McKenzie, McKinley, and Ravyn. He is also survived by his brother Howard.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, John Henry, sister Marie Abel, brothers: Russel, Wilber, Gail, Marion, Clovis, Doug and Harold Parsons.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday (Feb. 16) at 11:00 am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with burial in Newport Cemetery. Family will greet friends on Friday at the funeral home from 2-4 and 6-8. Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.Lankfordfh.com.
