Carl Fleming
Carl Fleming, 88, of Williamstown, passed away on Wednesday, December 15, 2010, at 9:10 am at Marietta Care and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born on September 21, 1922, at Qualey, Washington County, Ohio, a son of Delbert Fleming and Addie Lee Fleming. Carl served in the Civil Conservation Corps, was a veteran of WWII, and retired in 1963 as Chief from the Naval Reserve Aviation Corp. He was employed by Penn Metal that later became Keene and later was employed by Sperry Univac. He was a member of American Legion and VFW.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ida Jean Jarvis whom he married on September 21, 1949. Also surviving are his 3 sons: Terry of Phoenix, AZ, Ronald (Teresa) of Woodridge, VA and Patrick of Parkersburg; grandchildren: Ian, Seth, Aiden, Effie, Emily, Collin, Matthew, Adam Jessica, Danielle; great grandchildren: Ethan, Quinn, William, Robyn, Paul and Elliott. Carl is also survived by 2 sisters and 3 brothers: Ruth Dickenson, Grace Adams, Herbert Fleming, Richard Fleming and Dean Fleming.
In addition of his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Lois Thompson.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday (December 18th) at 3:00 pm at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with burial in East Lawn Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 2:00 until 6:00.
