Julie Diane VanWey

Julie Diane VanWey, 75, of Marietta passed away at 7:48 p.m. on Friday, April 26, 2019, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born September 11, 1943, in Marietta to Charles E. and E. Jean Casto Britton, Jr.

Diane was employed at K-Mart until her retirement and attended Pathway Community Church at Reno. She enjoyed and loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

On July 26, 1958, she married Billy L. VanWey who preceded her in death on March 24, 2012.

She is survived by her children: Cheryl VanWey of Marietta, Kathleen (Frank) Schneider of Reno, Tammy (Bob) Shuman of Belpre, Lisa (Danny) Lemley of Layman and William VanWey of Marietta; grandchildren: Amy (William) Harris of Marietta, Aaron Schneider of Reno, Troy Lemley of Parkersburg, Amanda (Kent) Constable of Marietta, Danielle VanWey of Marietta, Brian Scott (Anna) Myers of Virginia, Linda (Cory) Seevers of Reno, Madison Shuman of Belpre; great grandchildren: Tyler Schneider and Alexander Schneider of Reno, Brandi Savage, Donavon Wheeler, Kyleigh Constable and Arrianna VanWey all of Marietta, Olivia Lemley of Belpre, Scarlett Myers and Harper Myers of Virginia. She is also survived by her siblings: Larry (Ginny) Britton, Marcie Warne, Dave (Diane) Britton, Kenny (Judy) Britton, Tom (Becky) Britton and sisters-in-law Betty Britton and Kathleen Higgins all of Marietta and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant son Brian E. VanWey, brothers, Robert and Paul Britton, sister-in-law Ruth Ann WanWey, brothers-in-law Clifford VanWey, Don Warne and Jim Higgins and son-in-law Darrell Sciance, daughter-in-law Kim VanWey.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday (May 1) at 11:30 a.m. at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home followed by cremation. Family will greet friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8. Messages of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.Lankfordfh.com.
