Dorothea M. Summerville

Dorothea Margaret Summerville, 83, of Marietta passed away at 6:17 pm, Thursday, July 25, 2019, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 3, 1935, on Long Island, New York to Charles R. Miller, Jr. and Jane Alexander Miller.

On September 7, 1957, Dorothea was married to Eugene Summerville, who preceded her in death in 1989. She had been employed by Marietta City School as a bus driver for 26 years. Dorothea loved her grandchildren, flower gardening, bowling, Steeler football, Nascar racing and her cherished pets, Lucy and Holly.

She is survived by her daughter, Valerie (David) Moore, her sons Alan Summerville and special friend Paula Oates, Keith (Carolyn) Summerville; grandchildren: Leanne (Dustin) Kendall, Emily (Matt) Mallett, Shelby Summerville; step grandsons, Rhyan Rogers, Stephen, Christopher and Daniel Oates, step granddaughter Nina Oates and 2 great grandchildren, Halle Mallett and Calin Oates. She is also survived by her sisters, Jane Gallagher, Carol Mock, Sue Gombos, Betsy Taylor and brothers Richard and Tim Miller.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother Chuck Miller.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday (August 1) at 11:00 am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home. Family will greet friends before the service from 10 until 11. Messages of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.Lankfordfh.com.
