Robert and Evalena Barth
Mr. and Mrs. Robert (Bob) Barth, of Reno went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 22, 2010.
Evalena Marie Allen Barth was born on March 29, 1944 to the late Lester and Florence Erb Allen. She had worked at B.F. Goodrich and then became a homemaker. She was a member of the Hills United Methodist Church and President of the Hills United Methodist Women's Society. She also was a 4-H advisor and a leader of the Girl Scouts, was a past president of the Farm Bureau and currently a member of the Farm Bureau. She played the “gorilla” for Aletha’s florist and enjoyed going to yard sales, auctions, and Rinks Flea Market and spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed watching her son and grandson race their dirt bikes.
Robert Ray Barth was born on August 3, 1941 to the late Harold and Edith Hutchinson Barth. He had worked at Elston Lumber Company and Silvesco before returning to help his brother continue the family farm (Barth Farms). He was a Member of the Hills United Methodist Church, Farm Bureau, 2 Cylinder Club, Washington County Soil and Water Conservation, and Black and White Holstein Club. He enjoyed dairy farming, collecting toy tractors and spending time with family and friends. He also enjoyed the milk hauling business that he and his brother had. He also enjoyed watching his son and grandson race their dirt bikes.
Robert and Evalena were married on August 12, 1961, and are survived by two children, Tina (Eric) Dunn of Marietta, Troy (Tamela ) Barth of Marietta and three grandchildren: Tristan (Terry) Wonycott of Columbus, Wyatt Barth of Marietta, and Randen Reese of Manteo, NC. They are also survived by several nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews. Evalena is survived by one sister Sundena Handschumaker, four brothers: Rocky, Barry, Bill and Sonny Allen and one uncle Emmett Moore. Robert is survived by one brother Gerald Barth.
In addition to their parents, Robert was preceded in death by his grandparents, the late Walter and Rose Hutchinson, and the late Frank and Hattie Herlan Barth several aunts and uncles. Evalena was preceded in death by her grandparents Phillip L. and Lena Ica Holiday and her step grandmother Freda B. Jones Moore Erb, Henry and Lenora Beech Allen, also several aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday (March 30th) at 1:00 p m at Valley View Baptist Church in Reno with Pastor Gale Lauderman and Jeff Walker officiating. Burial will be in Valley Cemetery. Friends may call at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home beginning Monday morning at 9:00 and on Tuesday at the church at 12:00.
