Louis F. Morris

Louis F. Morris, 97, of New Matamoras passed away at 8:30pm, Thursday, February 8, 2024 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born July 17, 1926, in East Liverpool, OH a son of Floyd and Ada Sine Morris.
Louis was a carpenter and farmer and loved tinkering in his woodshop and mowing the yards. He was veteran of the U. S. Army, WWII 1945-1946, Sergeant of Military Police, Buck Sergeant, Sergeant of Arms, Marksman Shooter, Honor Flight Columbus Mission #114, 5-12-2022, and Washington County Veteran’s Hall of Fame November 1, 2022.
On July 24, 1948, he married Mamie Gay Casto who preceded him in death on June 27, 2006. He is survived by 5 sons and 5 daughters: John (Janet) Morris, Tom (Coleen Michaels) Morris, David (Tammy) Morris, Walter (Elizabeth) Morris, Scott (Andrea) Morris, Debra Morris, Mary (Bobby) Grosklos, Kelly (Bruce) Dennis, Tonya McKinney and friend Terry, Melanie (Donald) Sandford and one son Robert Lee Morris who is deceased, 20 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Paul Morris and 4 sisters: Barb Berry, Janice Arnold, Dorothy Ogaz, Shirley Haessly and several nieces and nephews.
Preceeded in death by his parents, wife, son, and brothers: Wilford, Chuck and James Morris, sisters: Ruth Kehl, Mildred Steinhoff, Vivian Farnsworth, Mary Ann Thorton.
Funeral services will be held on Monday (Feb. 12) at 11:00 am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with burial following in East Lawn Memorial Park with full military service.
