Gerald R. “Jerry” Goodwin

Gerald R. “Jerry” Goodwin, 84, of Marietta passed away at 5:55 am, Friday, April 12, 2024 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born on November 25, 1939, in Marietta to Chester Goodwin and Effie Johnson Goodwin.

Jerry had been employed at Cleveland Airport and retired as a door greeter at Wal-Mart. He was a member of Marietta Moose Club and was a Baptist by faith. Jerry enjoyed his life and was a big sports fan of the Cleveland Browns and the Ohio State University teams. He loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and enjoyed meeting his friends at Wal-Mart.

He is survived by his daughter, Crystal Campbell of Marietta, grandchildren: Heather Goodwin, Andy Pickens, Justin Wolfe, Hannah Campbell; 3 great grandsons: Haiden Bowman, Kaiser Bowman, Kingston Wolfe. He is also survived by his brother Phil Goodwin and sister Arlene Miller and several nieces and nephews which he loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Jerry Goodwin, Jr., brothers, Paul and Larry Goodwin and sister Maxine Schneeberger.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday (April 16) at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home followed by burial in Gravel Bank Cemetery. Family will greet friends on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8. Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.Lankfordfh.com.
