Bruce E. Griffin
Bruce E. Griffin, 57, of Forshey Road, Marietta, passed away at 1:15 am on Wednesday, February 6, 2008, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
He was born on December 30, 1950, in Washington County, Ohio, a son of Vance Griffin and Betty J. Morgenstern Griffin. Bruce was employed by American Cyanamid and later Cytec as a chemical operator. He was owner of Salem Candles in Marietta, a member of several fraternal and civic organizations, and an avid fan of Ohio State University Sports.
On May 15, 2002, Bruce married Diane Bartmess who survives with his daughter, Shauna (Hart) Moore of Cincinnati and grandchildren Kiser and Maggie Moore and his stepson Joey (Carla) Myers of Marietta and granddaughter Carma Jo Myers. Also surviving are his brother Walter (Lynn) Griffin of Beverly and his sister Yvonne Kaiden (Jack) of Marietta and special cousin Leona “Sis” (Nick) Mozzochi.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 9th, at 10:30 am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with burial in East Lawn Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday beginning at noon with family present from 2 until 4 and from 6 until 8. Family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Strecker Cancer Center, 401 Matthew Street, Marietta, Ohio 45750, in Bruce’s memory.
