Portrait of Frances H. Carver

Frances West Carver, 94, of Marietta, Ohio, died Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at her home. She was born March 13, 1930 to W. Ivy and Edna Harris West. She was a 1948 graduate of Marietta High School. There she met the love of her life, Kenneth N. Carver. They married on December 29, 1948 and were blessed with almost 73 years together before his death on November 9, 2021.
Fran’s life was dedicated to being the best wife and mother to Kenny and their five daughters Karen (David) Drennen, Kathy (Donald) Maxon, Kimberly (David) Koon, Konnie (Steve) Yoho, and Kristina (TR) Davis. Their infant son, Kenneth, Jr., preceded her in death.
Her family grew as she proudly welcomed her grandchildren Kenny (Tara) Drennen, Kasey (Michele) Drennen, the late D.J. (Beth) Maxon, Dustin (Kate) Maxon, Darcie (Bruce) Dye, Scott (Shannon) Koon, Kelli (Lars) Mahler, the late Jason Deer, Andy Deer, Cory (Amy) Deer, Cortney Ours, Jaxon Yoho, Nathan Stalnaker, and Trey (fiancee Morgan Simmons) Davis.
Great grandchildren Liam and Brody Drennen, Mollie, Megan, Ethan, Asher, Owen, and Ella Maxon, Maxon Dye, Grayson Koon, Jack and Lily Mahler added to her joy.
Fran was a member of Evergreen Bible Church. She enjoyed traveling, LONG car rides, crossword puzzles, the Price is Right, Wheel of Fortune, and Fox News. Her favorite activity was mowing her large yard with a push mower. Her girls finally convinced her to use a riding mower when she reached her late eighties!
Thank you to Amedisys Hospice staff and Mom’s sweet angels Marian, Leeanna, and Nikki for the gentle care you gave Mom during her final days.
Family and friends are invited to join us for her memorial service on Saturday, November 23, at 11:00 am at Evergreen Bible Church in Williamstown, WV. Please, wear red, Mom’s favorite color to honor and celebrate her life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Samaritan’s Purse through Evergreen Bible Church.
McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home is assisting the family and messages of sympathy may be sent at www.Lankfordfh.com.
