Ronald W. Ruble, 83, of Marietta passed away at 11:00 am, November 18, 2024, at Harmar Place. He was born August 17, 1941, at Kaneougha, OH, a son of the late Raymond O. and Elsie Pratt Ruble.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1959 to 1963 and served in the first battalion of the sixth Marine Second Marine division in the Cuban Missile Crisis–Bay of Pigs. Served as a coach of Marietta Girls Youth Softball League from 1980 to 1997 and served as president of the League from 1992-1993-1994-1995 and as vice-president from 1987 through 1989 and as treasurer of the league in 1996 to 1997. Member and past master of Harmar Lodge No. 390, F & A.M.; member of the Scottish Rite Society, Valley of Cambridge; and the Scottish Rite Club of Washington County; Marietta Commandery No. 50, Knights Templar; American Union Chapter No. 1, Royal Arch Masons; Marietta Council No. 78, Royal and Select Masons; Aladdin Temple A.A.O.N.M.S. Marietta Shrine Club; American Legion Post 64; a life member of Washington County Post 5108, Veterans of Foreign Wars; B.P.O.E. Lodge 477; a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 458; a member of the fraternal Order of Police Associates where he served as president in 1987,1988,1991,1992,1993,1994 and 1995; the Democratic Central Committee; and a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union, Local 168.

Survived by daughters: Tracii Lynn Ruble Bastidas and Annessa Hanes Duncan; sons: Matthew Wayne (Becci) Ruble and Anthony (Bucky) Hanes, several grandchildren, great grandchildren; brothers, Dave (Tana) Ruble and Tim (Rose) Ruble; sister, Pam (Harry) Blair and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Larry, Marvin, Bobby and Raymond, Jr.

Funeral services will be held on Friday (Nov. 22) at 11:00 am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with burial following in East Lawn Memorial Park. Family will greet friends on Thursday at the funeral home from 2-4 and 6-8. Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.Lankfordfh.com.
