Shirley Jean Morgenstern
Shirley Jean Morgenstern, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2024 at the age of 75.
Born on January 24, 1949 in Marietta, Ohio, Shirley was the daughter of Hazel Heslop. She was a woman of great strength, warmth, and grace, and her kindness touched all who had the privilege of knowing her. Shirley grew up in Whipple, Ohio and attended Lawrence High School, where she developed lifelong friendships.
On December 21, 1968, Shirley married Daniel C. Morgenstern, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. They raised their two children in Randolph, Ohio, instilling in them the values of compassion, integrity, and hard work. Shirley’s devotion to her family was unmatched, and she found her greatest joy in her children and grandchildren.
Shirley was known for her deep passion for sewing and quilting along with baking for family meals. Shirley will be remembered for her strength and determination against all challenges. Shirley worked and retired from Ohio Bell as an Operator.
Shirley is survived by her children, Bryan and Jennifer Morgenstern, Tanya and Paul Wilhelm, her grandchildren, Owen and Allison Morgenstern, Luke and Lincoln Wilhelm, her sisters, Carol Heslop, Marsha Pritchett, Diane Morgenstern, Darlene Davis, and Doris Hudson and other close family and church members. She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years Daniel Morgenstern and her mother Hazel Heslop. Her legacy of love, compassion, and service will continue to live on through all who were fortunate to know her.
Shirley Jean Morgenstern will be greatly missed, but her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
Visitation will be held on Sunday (Nov.17) from 1:00 until 4:00 at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday at Hillside Cemetery in Mogadore, OH. Messages of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.Lankfordfh.com.
