David Lee Venham

David Lee Venham, 85, of Marietta passed away at his home at 6:57 pm, Saturday, August 5, 2017. He was born in Marietta on March 15, 1932, to the late Clarence and Carrie Grace Beck Venham.

David was employed with Construction Systems of Columbus as a plasterer, was a 40 year member of Plasters and Cement Mason Union #1 and was a life member of American Legion Post #64 and V.F.W. Post 5108. He joined the service on January 25, 1952, and served his country with the U. S. Army, 40th Infantry Division, 160 Reg. “M” Company, in Korea and was honorably discharged in January, 1960.

David married Janice Elizabeth Branscomb on September 2, 1954, and who preceded in death on February 1, 2003. He is survived by one son and two daughters: Mark (Patty) Venham, Pamela (Ron) Morrow, Dawn Venham; grandchildren: David, Ashlee (Jonathon) and Leslee Curry, Jessica (Mitch) Venham Spencer, Dustin (Nikki) Venham, Megan (Mikel) Venham Carpenter, Seth (Shandi) Venham, Logan Venham, Kassandra (Matt) McLaughlin Erb, Bryce Reasoner; 22 great grandchildren, several sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.

His parents and brother Robert Venham preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday (Aug. 9) at 11:00 am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with burial following in Oak Grove Cemetery. Family will greet friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8. Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.Lankfordfh.com.
