Nancy K. Shimer

Nancy K. Shimer, 78, of Lower Salem, OH, passed away Tuesday, February 14th surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 19th, 1938, in Louisville, WV, to John H. Henry and Elsie M.(Hughes) Henry. She was an employee of Marietta Memorial Hospital for over 25 years. She loved quilting, golf, The Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Cavaliers and eating out. But above all she loved to hear her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren laughing. She attended the Claysville United Methodist Church and was a member of the Noble County Cruiser’s.

Nancy will be greatly missed by her children; Sheldon (Jean), Jeff (Caroline), Scott (Carolyn) Shimer, Debbie Wells & Tim (Donna) Shimer, her 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Also her brothers Jim (Carolyn), John (Carole) Henry and sister Marlyn Smith and Harvey Spencer. Sister-in-law June Mihalov and also by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. As well as many special friends. She also loved her children’s friends. She was loved by anyone who met her. She never met a stranger.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Sheldon (Joe) Shimer, brother Steve Henry, sister Sally Fox and brother-in-law Martin (Mike) Mihalov.
 
We would like to thank all the employees of Marietta Memorial Hospital and Heartland of Marietta.
 
There will be a Memorial/Celebration service at Holy Smokes, 6825 OH 821, Whipple, OH 45788 at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 18th. All family and friends are welcome. Come share a memory or funny story with us all. She loved laughter!
