James W. “Butch” Doak

James William “Butch” Doak, 73, of Marietta passed away at 4:00 am, Friday, March 27, 2020. He was born on December 22, 1946, in South Charleston, WV, a son of James and Helen Williams Doak.

He had been employed at McJunkin Supply, Marietta Moose, Marietta Ignition, Food 4 Less and his favorite–Bob Evans as a host where he saw his old friends at made many new ones. Jim had served in the U.S. Army in Korea during the Vietnam era. He was a member of VFW Post 5108 and Barnett Ridge Church of Christ in Fleming. He was a firm believer in God.

He is survived by his children: Rissa (Dennis) Farrar of Marietta, Justin (Stephanie) Doak of Middletown, OH, Courtney (Mat) Kleintop of Marietta, Asher (Rachel)Doak of Caldwell and their mother, Kay Doak of Marietta; grandchildren: Morgan and Vivian Doak, Keely and Quinlin Kleintop, Raianne Farrar, Danielle and Noah Edgell; great grand daughter, Veronica Finkel; his companion Norma Edgell, sister Susan (Steve) King of Bloominton, IN, brother Joseph (Sandy) Doak of Charleston, WV, several nieces and nephews and cousins.

Private graveside services will be held in East Lawn Memorial Park with memorial services held after the Corona 19 quarantine. McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home is assisting the family and messages of sympathy may be sent at www.Lankfordfh.com.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to St. Jude Research Hospital or Shriner’s Hospital for Children.
