George W. Zimmerman
George W. Zimmerman, 84 of Marietta passed away at 8:35 pm, May 4, 2026 at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
He was born on February 19, 1942, in Marietta a son of Howard Zimmerman and Elsie Baker Zimmerman. George had been employed in the oilfield.
He married Judith D. Lauer who preceded him in death. He is survived by his sons, Shawn (Bridget) Zimmerman and Scott (Treasa) Zimmerman both of Marietta; stepchildren: Crystal (Rusty) Brown of Lowell, Carmen (Robert) Patterson of Marietta, Jim (Kyla) Kidd of Marietta and Carla Sparks, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, also special grandchildren: Ryan, Reagan, Jason, Brandon, Cailey and Matt Kidd. Also surviving is his sister, Donna Martin of Fleming.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, son Shane Edward Zimmerman, stepson Joe Kidd.
Funeral services will be held on Monday (May 11) at 11:00am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with burial following in Salem Township Cemetery. Family will greet friends before the service from 9:00 until 11:00. Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.Lankfordfh.com.
