Kristin Evon Stewart

Kristin Evon Stewart, 78, of Marietta, Ohio, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on July 14, 2026.

Born March 12, 1948, in Flemington, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late A.P. Stewart Jr. and Hellen Pauline Singleton Stewart.

Kristin loved the Lord, her family, and never met a stranger. She was a gifted storyteller. Her kindness, and generous spirit touched everyone she met. Though she endured heartbreaking losses later in life, she continued to share her love freely and was always willing to help anyone in need.

She is survived by her children, Shelly Murphy of Torch, Ohio; Traci (Ralph) Shumar and Pauline Rooks, both of Marietta, Ohio; Charmel (Mark) Glaspell of Waynesville, Missouri; and Kyle (Elizabeth) Bryant of Belpre, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; her brother, Paul (Jeanne) Stewart III of Marietta, Ohio; and numerous extended family members, and dear friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Bobby C. Bryant, and her grandson, Jeffrey M. Root.

McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home is assisting the family with cremation arrangements. A celebration of Kristin’s life will be held by the family at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Association.
