  • Janet Louise Knowlton

    Janet Louise Knowlton, 74. of Marietta, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 9, 2025 at Harmer Place Rehabilitation and Extended Care. Janet was the daughter of the late Charles and Geraldine Handschumacher of Lower Salem.
    Janet was married to Jeffrey Knowlton for 54 years where she was a homemaker raising her three children, Steven (Mary) Knowlton, Sandra (John) Ridenhour, and Eric (Lesly) Knowlton.
    Janet was a faithful servant to the Lord through teaching Sunday school, junior church. Awana and vacation bible school at Whipple Community Church and later at Twin Rivers Baptist Church. She really enjoyed working with the kids to learn memory versus’ and teaching the kids about Jesus. She also was a member of the Warren Fire Department ladies auxiliary serving in many different roles. She helped start the Bramblewood Buckeyes 4-H club and volunteered as an election worker, in which she was a precinct lead for the Warren south precinct for many years.

  • George C. Mather

    George C. Mather, 77, of Vero Beach, FL, formerly of Williamstown, WV, received his wings on Monday, June 9, 2025, just a short 5 months after the passing of his wife, Mun Cha Kim Mather. He was born November 24, 1947, a son of Floyd Mather and Marion Hill.
    George was a veteran of the U.S. Army as a Sgt. 1st Class, serving in Vietnam and 2 tours in Korea and Germany. He was a cook by trade. He retired after serving 21 years.

  • Steven Albert Meyer

    Steven Albert Meyer, 81, of Marietta, Ohio, died on Monday, June 9, 2025 at Harmar Place in Marietta.
    He was born August 26, 1943, in Columbia City, Indiana to Robert and Margaret (Fiedler) Meyer.
    He graduated from Columbia City High School, from Purdue University with a degree in Industrial Engineering, and from Ohio University with a Master of Business Administration. After achieving Professional Engineer certification, he worked for many years at Borg-Warner Chemicals (later GE Plastics), Johns Manville, and other facilities in and around the Mid-Ohio Valley.

  • Scott E. Murray

    Scott E. Murray, 79, of Parkersburg, WV, passed away at 8:11 am, Saturday, June 7, 2025 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.
    He was born September 15, 1945 in Franklin County, Ohio, a son of Clyde Eugene Murray and Florence Icel Lowe Murray. Scott was as a veteran of the US Army serving in Vietnam. He was a mechanic by trade. Scott was a member of VFW Post 5108.

    Janice J. Haught, 89, of Marietta passed away at 7:08pm, Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at The Arbors of Marietta. She was born February 6, 1936, in Marietta a daughter of Merle Carpenter and Reva Wittke Carpenter.
    Janice had been employed as a tour guide for AAA. She was a member of Souls Harbor Baptist Church. Along with her husband Eugene, they sang together in many area churches.

  • Alicia Eddy McIntire

    Alicia Eddy McIntire, 47, of Marietta, Ohio, was called home to be with the Lord on May 31, 2025.
    Alicia was the beloved daughter of Tom and Janine Eddy of Marietta. She was a 1996 graduate of Marietta High School and earned her degree in Early Childhood Education from Ohio University in 1999, a reflection of her lifelong passion for nurturing and teaching young minds.
    In October of 2000, Alicia married the love of her life, Guy McIntire, at St. Paul’s Church in Marietta. Together they raised three children, Alisyn Herb (Gage), Matthew McIntire, and Christopher McIntire.

  • Lt. Colonel George James Schlatter

    Lt. Colonel George James Schlatter (Jim), age 92, of Belpre, Ohio went to his eternal heavenly home with the Lord on Saturday, May 24, 2025.
    Born July 19, 1932, and raised in Fort Wayne, IN, Jim grew to become an avid basketball fan, playing guard at Michigan State University, and a lifelong Spartan fan. He went on to have a decorated career as a US Air Force pilot which spurred on his next chapter as both a private pilot and proud owner of his own Cessna for impromptu adventures. A committed marathon runner, popcorn lover, church usher, western film enthusiast and rock collector; Jim was the most honorable man with a radiant smile and ever-present sense of humor. Jim was a beloved husband, respected father, and adored grandfather.
